How to Apply EquiPatch

  1. Clean the wound.
  2. Apply EquiPatch directly over the wound with the white side closest to the skin, ensuring the yellow stripes run along the length of the wound.
  3. Secure EquiPatch with padding and a cohesive bandage.
  4. Assess the wound after 3 days.
If the wound is improving then reapply EquiPatch for a further 3 days.
If the wound is not improving then consult your vet.
  5. Continue to assess the wound on a regular basis and reapply EquiPatch until the wound is healed.

Notes:

Wounds can be assessed more frequently (daily) or less frequently (weekly) if desired.

Small wounds may only need EquiPatch applied for the first 3 days.

Older, Larger or Chronic wounds may require multiple applications to heal the wound.

If proud flesh has been removed from an old wound then apply EquiPatch over the wound to reduce the likelihood of proud flesh reoccurring.

Reusing EquiPatch / Cleaning Instructions

After each use, we recommend cleaning your EquiPatch dressing with an alcohol solution, Betadine, or a similar antiseptic, and storing it back in the resealable pouch, ready for the next time you need it.
EquiPatch can also be sterilised using an autoclave or similar equipment if desired.

This will not affect the therapeutic properties of the dressing.
