How EquiPatch Works

EquiPatch uses patented technology designed to target the realignment of molecules within the dermis. Most advanced wound healing products target the cells not the molecules.

To understand how EquiPatch works you need to know a little bit about skin.

Skin has three main layers; the outside layer is the epidermis below that is the dermis and below the dermis is subcutaneous fat. Our dressing works by targeting the alignment of collagen and other molecules that make up the dermis.

EquiPatch contains fine structures that imitate physical properties of intact skin.
When placed over a wound these structures project an electromagnetic ‘virtual scaffold’ into the wound so the collagen and other molecules flowing into the wound can align as if the skin is still intact.

This dramatically reduces healing times and produces a minimal scar.

How do we put this into a wound dressing?

The quality of the dressing is achieved by the high standard of raw materials that are used and the advanced manufacturing tools that have been purpose built to create the precise structures within in our dressing that are necessary to achieve the desired therapeutic outcomes.

Soft silicone is used as the base material to ensure the dressing can conform to the contours of a horse’s leg and maximise the therapeutic effects across the entire length of the wound.

The underside of the dressing is coloured white to make it easy to check the dressing is clean before being applied.

The top of the dressing is green with yellow stripes to help correctly orientate the dressing over the wound.
